Robin Uthappa tops the chart for the Indians as the only domestic capped player with ₹ 1.5 crore base price as the final player pool for the IPL 2020 Auction was formally announced. A total of 332 cricketers are set to go under the hammer in Kolkata on December 19, Thursday. As many as 997 players had initially registered for the auction. However , the list has been pruned after the eight franchises had submitted their shortlist of players.
With ₹2 crore as the highest reserve price, seven overseas players – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn and Angelo Mathews – have opted to be slotted in the highest bracket, which incidentally has no domestic talent.

Robin Uthappa is the sole Indian in the next 10-player, ₹ 1.5 crores base-price bracket. Other Indian stars like Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan and Jaydev Unadkat have set their base price at ₹1 crore. There are 23 other overseas players who also feature in the category.
Indian Test specialists Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari have safely opted for ₹ 50 lakh base price along with former Indian players like Stuart Binny, Naman Ojha, Mohit Sharma, Manoj Tiwari, Saurabh Tiwari, Rishi Dhawan, and Barinder Sran.
Priyam Garg, his deputy Aryan Juyal and Yashasvi Jaiswal represent the next generation of Indian players who will soon be featuring in the U-19 World Cup.
A total of 186 Indian players, including 143 overseas and 3 players from associate nations, will be up for grabs at the auction on Thursday. The Auction will start at 15:30 IST.
