The 13th edition of the Indian Indian Premier League is slated to get underway from September 19, but the recent developments surrounding Covid-19 has brought IPL under scrutiny.
While some team managements decided against travelling with families, there have certain players who have been privy to it.
The BCCI, in a 16-page Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document containing an overview of safety and health protocols addressed to the franchise, has listed in detail the guidelines to be followed by families during their stay in the UAE in the wake of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Families of players and support staff, team owners and Dope Control Testing Officers are among the other members apart from players, match officials, team doctors who will be allowed to be in the UAE in biosecure environments during IPL 2020.
Players and support staff, both domestic and overseas, will have to undergo 5 Covid-19 PCR tests before entering the bio-secure environment in the UAE. Family members of the players and support staff will also have to undergo the said tests.
