IPL 2019: Chennai Super Kings launch licensed merchandise

Three-time Indian Premier League champions Chennai Super Kings have launched their licenced merchandise ahead of the 2019 season.

Created in partnership with Baseline Ventures through various licensed firms, the exclusive merchandise will be available for purchase through the Chennai Super Kings app, the website (www.chennaisuperkings.com), stores and websites of the licensee firms.

Watches and Fitness bands have been created by Sonata, Apparel by The Souled Store, Gifts by Oye Happy, Stainless Steel bottles by Attasware, Children board games by Kadoos, Fragrances by Xavier Laurent, Accessories by Cover It Up, Player figurines by Lilliput and Audio accessories by boAt Lifestyle.

Dunzo has been signed up as licensed delivery partner for faster delivery to CSK fans.

“We are thrilled about the launch of our licensed merchandise and we see licensing as the next step in the evolution of Brand CSK,” KS Viswanathan, CEO, Chennai Super Kings, said in a statement.

CSK host Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 1PL-12 tournament opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on March 23.

“We are excited about our association with Chennai Super Kings with whom we have worked closely over the years for sponsorship,” Vipin Nair, Co-Founder, Baseline Ventures, said.

“Our objective is to use the licensing model and make CSK one of the biggest sports retail brands across stores and e-commerce platforms. We have some great licensees on board across different categories and we will introduce more licensing categories in the near future and hope to add to the existing licensing partners of CSK.” CSK won a third crown in their seventh appearance in the final last season to level with Mumbai Indians for most titles in the competition.

CSK also extended their record of qualifying to the Playoffs to all nine seasons that they have participated in.
