Argentina have won both their encounters against Honduras, with the minnows looking to upset manager Lionel Scaloni and his men. The Albicelestes qualified for the World Cup after drawing 0-0 at home with Brazil last November. The 2022 edition could also be the last tournament for Argentina’s top scorer and captain Lionel Messi, who came ever so close to the trophy in 2014 in Brazil.

Argentina have not won the Jules Rimet trophy since 1986, but have assembled a strong squad ahead of the mega-event in Qatar. Their opponents Honduras failed to qualify for the World Cup, but upset Canada in the CONCACAF Nations League in June. Honduras put up a resilient showing in their last meeting with Argentina losing narrowly 1-0 back in 2016.
