Indian women wrestlers to participate in charity event in Los Angeles

A ten member India Women’s Wrestling team will participate in the Beat the Streets competition in Los Angeles, the USA, on March 31st. The ten-member Indian contingent, spearheaded by Olympic medallist Sakshi Malik, features the top Indian women wrestlers across different weight categories.

The squad also includes Pooja Dhanda and most promising Diya Kakran.

The squad: Sheetal – 50kg; Reena – 53kg; Pinki – 55kg; Pooja Dhanda – 57kg; Sarita – 59kg; Sakshi Malik – 62kg; Navjot Kaur – 65kg; Divya Kakran – 68kg; Kiran – 72kg; Sudesh kumari – 76kg.

Sakshi Malik has shared her joy in a post on her official Instagram handle.

The proceeds from the LA event will go towards a charity.

The girls will then stay back for a training camp between April 2 and 12.
