- Cheteshwar Pujara in hilarious fashion turn out for India after he featured for Leicestershire in the first innings.
- In the 49th over of India’s second innings, Shardul Thakur was dismissed but in unexpected fashion it was Cheteshwar Pujara who came out to bat for India, replacing Thakur.
- Pujara opted not to field and instead came out to bat as India continued their innings from 203/6.
- With the match getting over on Sunday, Pujara didn’t waste time and made sure he swapped teams to get more batting opportunities.

Dismissed for 22 for India and duck for Leicestershire –
Pujara was dismissed for a duck in the first innings for Leicestershire while he departed for 22 for India. Pujara has impressed on English soil in the last few months as he represented Sussex. So to continue his batting practice Pujara swapped teams on Day 3 but failed to find form after scoring just 22 runs.
Playing for Sussex, Pujara scored four hundreds, which included two double tons as well. While the majority of star players were involved in the IPL 2022, Pujara took full advantage of the English conditions to make his return back to the Indian team.

Puajra to make India comeback-
- Cheteshwar Pujara was dropped from the Indian team after he had poor performance against South Africa and New Zealand at the turn of the year.
- Pujara was dropped for the home series against Sri Lanka along with Ajinkya Rahane.
- However, impressive showing in the English season for Sussex manufactured his return back into the team.
- With experience on his side Pujara will be a certain addition to the team while he is also the ninth highest scorer in the matches involving both India and England.
