- India have played 65 Test matches on English soil, with nine wins in that period.
- Two of those matches have been won in the current series where India lead 2-1.
- India first won a Test match on England soil in 1971 and have since won Test series in 1986 and 2007.
- Overall, England have won on 35 occasions with 21 matches ending in stalemates.
- However, they will have to win in Edgbaston to end a 15-year series win drought.
- India also lost the World Test championship Final in England, which is another disappointing stat for the visitors.

India vs England Test: India aim to end series win drought
- India first won a series on English soil in 1971 and have since won only two more series.
- India last won a Test series on English soil in 2007 as Rahul Dravid who is now the coach led India to the win.
- Things though will be different from last year as India have changed their skipper from Virat Kohli to Rohit Sharma.
- Head coach Ravi Shastri has also made way for Rahul Dravid.
- Likewise, England too have been in a transition as they have seen Ben Stokes take over the captaincy reigns from Joe Root.
- There is a change in coaching too for England with Chris Silverwood making way for Brendon McCullum.
