India vs Australia ODI series: 63 Seconds tribute planned for Phil Hughes ahead of first ODI in Sydney

India vs Australia ODI series: Australian cricket team and Team India will pay homage to late Phil Hughes on Friday when they lock horns in the first ODI in Sydney as 27th November will mark the sixth death anniversary of the late Australian cricketer. Both teams will hold 63-second applause for Hughes.

Hughes was not-out on 63 during a Sheffield Shield game after being struck on the neck by a Sean Abbott bouncer while batting for South Australia against New South Wales. Despite wearing a helmet, Hughes collapsed on the field and was immediately rushed to Sydney where he was placed into an induced coma. The southpaw had suffered a brain haemorrhage which resulted in his death on the morning of November 27, 2014.

Incidentally, it was the SCG where Hughes played his last cricket match before the tragedy took place. Hughes was just three days short of his 26th birthday at the time.
