India tour of Australia: Indian coach Ravi Shastri is known for his proactive approach and communication skills. On Sunday, he decided to have one on one session with one of the biggest cricket talent in the country Shubman Gill.
Young Gill is part of the Indian test and ODI team currently on tour of Australia and is likely to play a role in the XI. Shastri spent good 30-40 mins on conversation with Gill explaining him nuances of playing in Australia.
After the conversation, Shastri tweeted a photo of himself talking to batsman Shubman Gill and captioned the post as: “Nothing beats a good conversation about the great game #LoveCricket #AUSvIND”.

According to info available, Shastri has planned this kind of one to one conversations with almost all team members of squad so that individually their role can be explained to them.
India and Australia are slated to lock horns against each other in three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests. The tour kicks off with the ODI series starting November 27, followed by the T20Is. The teams will then shift their focus to the Test matches in the final leg of the tour.
Captain Virat Kohli will play only in the first Test and then return home. He has been granted paternity leave by the BCCI for the birth of his child. India’s squad for all three formats had arrived in Australia last week and now every player has started training in the nets.
During the 2018-19 series, India managed to record their first Test series win on Australian soil. The Kohli-led side won the series 2-1 and now would be looking to retain the Border Gavaskar Trophy. The first Test between India and Australia will commence from December 17 at the Adelaide Oval and it will be a day-night contest.
The four-match series will be part of the World Test Championship (WTC). Australia and India are at the top two spots in the WTC standings.
