India Tour of Sri Lanka: A Shikhar Dhawan-led white-ball specialist Team India will leave for Sri Lanka on Monday from Mumbai after spending 13 days in quarantine. The 20-member squad, a blend of a few experienced players and some new faces in the squad, will take on Kusal Perera & Co in a three-match ODI and as many T20I matches in Colombo. Ahead of the departure of the team, which will be coached by Rahul Dravid, BCCI shared the team’s photo on Twitter.

During the pre-tour departure, Rahul Dravid said despite introducing new faces to the team, a second-string yet strong Team India’s primary focus will be to win the two series in Colombo. It will also be an opportunity for some players to seal their berth in ICC T20 World Cup.
“For sure, a lot of players are looking forward to cement their places in the ICC T20 World Cup. There will be a few players who are pushing for places. But the key focus in the two sessions that we had so far, has been on winning the series. That is going to be our primary objective. But hopefully, people will get some opportunities to put in some good performances in the course of winning the series and knock doors of selectors,” Rahul Dravid said at a virtual pre-tour press conference on Sunday.
