India tour of England: Virat Kohli vs James Anderson face-off, who will win? Graeme Swann has a prediction, Check out: If Virat Kohli is the superman of cricket, James Anderson is his kryptonite. England’s legendary pace bowler has dismissed the India captain 8 times and will look to extend his dominance but former England player Graeme Swann has predicted the outcome and it’s not in his former teammate’s favour. Swann has backed Kohli in the face-off.

Recalling how Indian skipper Virat Kohli emerged stronger on England soil in 2018 quick after his debacle in 2014. As for the current scenario, Swann backed Kohli and mentioned that the Indian batsman can ‘score runs anywhere in the world at any time.’

The thing with Virat Kohli is, the last time he came here absolutely dominated the series. And again, to put the negative stand there and say ‘Oh Jimmy Anderson got his out for fun’… Jimmy Anderson ‘used to’ get him out for fun in England and it was embarrassing,” Graeme Swann told Sportskeeda.

“Virat Kohli went away, worked on his game to an extent that he didn’t get out at all to Jimmy and he dominated in England. I am sure he’s watching the videos, remembering his techniques against that English attack and I would back Virat Kohli to score runs anywhere in the world at any time,” Swann added.

Virat Kohli had a horrendous tour to England in 2014 where he managed only 134 runs in 10 innings at 13.4. The Indian skipper was nearly tamed by Anderson’s fast bowling in the overseas conditions. He puppeted Kohli so much so that he troubled the Indian batsman on four occasions.

The right-handed Indian batsman then metamorphized himself to that extent that during India’s next tour to England in 2018, Anderson couldn’t dismiss Kohli on a single occasion during the course of the series.

The upcoming 5-match Test series between the two quality sides would see Kohli and the lanky pacer square off for the third time on England soil.
