India Tour of England: Good news for Virat Kohli’s team India, BCCI successfully negotiates only 3 days quarantine

India Tour of England – ICC WTC Finals: There is good news for both men & women team leaving for tour of England. Instead of 10 days hard quarantine, Indian teams will now have to just spend 3 days in the hotel. After request from BCCI, England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has relaxed their Covid-19 protocols for the Indian teams and they will now be allowed to practice from the 4th day onwards.

India Tour of England – ICC WTC Finals: Both the men & women teams are leaving by same chartered flight to UK on June 2nd. The men’s team will head to Southampton for the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand which starts on June 18. As per the earlier agreed plans, Virat Kohli’s team will be staying in the hotel in the premises of Ageas Bowl.

According to the information available England & New Zealand teams who will be playing test at that point of time will also be staying in the same hotel.
On the other hand, the Indian women team will travel to Bristol for the one-off Test against England from June 16.

India tour of England: No clarity on norms for families of players as yet

Meanwhile, the BCCI has also requested ECB and other authorities to consider same norms for the players families. Since India will go on a long tour, players have been allowed to accompany their immediate families. However, even though the players have received clearance, their family members haven’t. The BCCI is still negotiating a way for the family members, who are also currently in the bio-bubble in Mumbai.

Team India’s first stop will be in Southampton where they play New Zealand to decide the first champion of the Test format. Following their 3-1 win against England at home, India finished as the No. 1 side with 72.2 percentage points and booked their place in the final.
