The practice of Mankading has met severe criticism from fans and officials all over the globe. Earlier this year, the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) made amendments to the Mankad rule. The major controversy that arises due to this is the violation of the spirit of cricket. After MCC legitimized the Mankad to be a run-out dismissal, Indian all-rounder Deepak Chahar opted to use the Mankad.
However, the Men in Blue kept the spirit of the game intact when Deepak Chahar didn’t appeal to the umpire for a wicket. It can be understood that Chahar wanted to warn the batter to not repeat the mistake again.

Chahar however dismissed Kaia a couple of overs later. Earlier India batted first and set up a big target of 290 for Zimbabwe to chase. Youngster batter Shubman Gill went on to register his maiden century while Ishan Kishan notched up a stellar fifty.

Gill accomplished this feat during the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe in Harare. The stylish right-hander from Punjab had a stay on the crease that oozed grace and class. He scored 130 runs in just 97 balls with 15 fours and one six.
