Rohit needs 44 More runs to complete 16000 International runs
As things stand, Rohit is on 15,956 runs from 424 innings in 407 international matches in all formats. The India captain scored 64 in the first T20 on Friday. He will need 44 more runs on Monday to achieve the landmark. Rohit holds a unique distinction of being the leading run scorer in the T20I format and needs 624 runs to reach 10000 runs in ODI.
In Test cricket Rohit has scored 3137 runs and was made the permanent captain of the format in January after Virat Kohli resigned. Rohit Sharma also holds the accolade of scoring the highest ever ODI score of 264 in an innings.

Rohit Sharma set to join Elite company
- If Rohit ends up scoring 44 runs on Monday he will join the an elite list which contains Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli.
- Interestingly all the names above Rohit have been captain of the Indian side at various points of their career with only Virender Sehwag not acting as a permanent captain.
- Looking at the time in hand and fitness into consideration, Rohit could well add to his tally of runs and become easily surpass the likes of MS Dhoni, Ganguly and Sehwag.
- He will also become the second Mumbai player to score 16000 international runs after Sachin Tendulkar.

Rohit leads the way in T20I format
As things stand, Rohit became the leading run scorer in the T20 format when he went past Martin Guptill on Friday. With 3443 runs in 129 matches he leads the way ahead of Virat Kohli, Paul Strirling, Aaron Finch. The stats will only get better for Rohit in the coming days as India still have four T20Is against WestIndies, Asia Cup, a home series against Australia and the T20 World Cup.
In the most interesting fact, all the leading run scorers in the three formats represent India and Mumbai. Sachin Tendulkar holds the record for most runs in ODIs and Test while Rohit now has the same accolade in the T20I format.
