Kyle Mayers took probably the catch of the India vs West Indie series as he made a full-length dive at the boundary to get rid of Shikhar Dhawan on Sunday. Dhawan looked rusty but had built a strong 48-run partnership with Shubman Gill at the top of the order. The Indian captain then tried to uppercut a Romario Shepherd delivery, but only found Kyle Mayers in the deep.
Mayers, who was stationed wide ran in a few yards before putting in a full-length dive to complete a terrific catch. Not only did the West Indian all-rounder judge the trajectory of the ball perfectly, but he was also mindful of the boundary behind him, steering clear of the same to help the hosts get their first breakthrough of the contest.

Mayers then proceeded to strike two wickets to force a collapse putting India in a spot of bother. Shubman Gill tried an audacious shot to hit it straight back to the all-rounder, while Suryakumar Yadav chopped one onto his stumps. Earlier, Mayers scored a quick fire 35 to help the hosts off to a blazing start, set the tone for their 311-run innings.
