With players like Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer, Odean Smith and Brandon King among others, their brand of cricket suits T20 format. Even if one looks at the IPL auctions in the past , players from WestIndies are in high demand. It is understood that their game fits the bill perfectly in the shorter format.
Players like Pooran and Hetmyer, who are known to be big hitters of a cricket ball, have it in them to win matches for their team single-handedly. It is this element of theirs, which makes them a dangerous unit.
“It is going to be an exciting and challenging one. We do understand the kind of potential West Indies have, especially in this format of the game. They cherish playing this format, and it is going to be a challenging time for us.” Rohit said in a BCCI video.

Rohit Sharma back after a break: Rohit Sharma did not feature in the recently concluded ODI series. Rohit, who went on a holiday, joined the Indian T20 squad recently. The Indian opener has a busy schedule ahead in the T20 format, including the Asia Cup, India-Australia series among others before the World Cup.
A refreshed Rohit is keen to bring his A game and is awaiting for the series to start as well. “It is always good to have some time off and get refreshed. Of course, I am excited to be back, can wait to get the series started,” he said.
India still have a strong side though three big players – Yuzvendra Chahal, Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the series. As a result, it has given the team management an opportunity to look into other players with the T20 World Cup coming up in the next few months.
Rohit, like in other series, wants to get the best out of the series and move forward. “Talking about our guys, all of us are looking and raring to go. We will work out something and try and achieve something from this series as well. That is always been the goal – always achieve something form the we play and keep moving forward.”
