Rohit Sharma, along with his wife, enjoyed Tuesday and spent some quality time together at a water villa in the Maldives. Rohit will be celebrating the New Year and her daughter Samaira’s birthday on December 30 before returning to the national squad for the ODI series against Sri Lanka which begins on January 10.
IND vs SL: Rohit takes back his role as ODI skipper despite rumours that Hardik Pandya would be given the permanent white-ball captaincy during the series. Shikhar Dhawan, who led India for the majority of the ODI series in 2021, was left off the roster because to his poor play, which is the biggest news to come out of the squad announcement. The T20I team’s captain, Hardik Pandya, will serve as Rohit Sharma’s backup for the ODI series against the Sri Lankans.
The series’ opening ODI will take place at Guwahati on January 10; the next two ODIs will be held in Kolkata and Thiruvananthapuram on January 12 and 15, respectively. India last faced Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series in 2021. The Men in Blue won the series 3-0.
