IND vs SL Live: Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka has impressed one and all with his batting masterclass in the ongoing T20 series against India as he scored an unbeaten 74 in the third T20I at Dharamshala on Sunday. Shanaka scored 74 off 38 balls to help Sri Lanka post 146 on the board. In the second T20I he had scored an unbeaten 47 off 19 balls. Coming in to bat when Sri Lanka were struggling at 29/4, Shanaka produced a stunning display with the bat as he smashed all around the park with 9 fours and 2 sixes to help his team post a decent total on the board.
He continued from where he left off in the last game where he scored 47 off just 19 balls, hitting 2 fours and five sixes. He particularly smashed Harshal Patel in the last game as the Indian pacer conceded 23 runs in the last over of Sri Lankan innings. He was hit for one four and two sixes by Shanaka.
Speaking about his knock to the official broadcaster Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said, “I am really surprised why IPL franchises didn’t pick him in the auction. Maybe, his past performance wasn’t as good. But franchises will keep him in mind after these two innings. Maybe, they can bring him as a replacement.”
