IND vs NZ live – WTC Final Day 4 LIVE: While bad weather may again play spoilsport in Southampton in the ICC World Test Championship Final between India and New Zealand, Virat Kohli’s Team India face big challenges to keep Kiwis at bay. Despite valiant efforts from Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane, India fell short as Kyle Jamieson led the fightback on Day 3, bowling India out for 217. IND vs NZ live – WTC Final Day 4 LIVE: 5 Big challenges in front of Virat Kohli & Team India, follow LIVE Updates

1) Kane Williamson: Since January 2020, New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson has averaged 84. In the WTC Final, he is unbeaten on 12 after playing 37 balls. While a new day could bring about a change, Kane Williamson is known to take a long time to settle and tire the bowlers out. Hence, Virat Kohli’s first priority would be to get Kane Williamson’s wicket on Day 4 at the earliest. If he stays long, New Zealand could very well take a lead and put India on the backfoot.

2) Ross Taylor/ Henry Nicholls/ BJ Watling: Like India, New Zealand’s batting runs deep. With Ross Taylor still at the crease, they have Henry Nicholls and BJ Watling to come. That tenacious middle-order could pose India a threat. With overcast conditions and a fairly new ball in hand, the likes of Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah must extract the best out of the conditions and get quick wickets to rattle the middle-order. Otherwise, India could be in danger.

3) Off-colour Jasprit Bumrah: But foremost, Jasprit Bumrah must get his form back. On Day 3, he was off-colour, failing to take advantage of the pitch. He conceded 34 runs in his 11 overs without a scalp and that says it all about his bad day at the office. Virat Kohli often looked frustrated with his bowling and he needs the ace pacer by his side on Day 4.

4) Tackling the bad weather of England: While Virat Kohli & Co can’t do anything to change the bad weather, what they could do is to take advantage of the condition. For New Zealand, Kyle Jamieson, Neil Wagner, Trent Boult and Tim Southee did just that on Day 3 to get early wickets. With overcast conditions and rain set to dominate Day 4, India’s pace trio of Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah must take advantage of that.
