With Hardik Pandya resting against HongKong, Rohit Sharma sought out Virat Kohli to roll his arm over to give him an extra option from his sixth bowler. The 33-year-old bowled a tidy over, conceding just six runs but was unable to pick up any wickets. It was for the first time since the 2016 T20 World Cup semifinal match against West Indies in Mumbai, Virat bowled in a T20 international match.
In his 101 matches, Kohli has only bowled 12 times, with four wickets to his name. The last of the was Johnson Charles in that Wankhede match against the West Indies. His other dismissals include Kevin Pietersen, Samit Patel and Mohammad Hafeez.

Earlier in the day, an out of touch Virat Kohli laboured on a Dubai track to reach a welcome half-century against Hong Kong on Wednesday. Not one of the prime attacks in the world, the 33-year-old had the perfect opportunity to get some runs under his belt and he did so with style.
He eventually reached his milestone in 40 deliveries, reaching out for another record in T20Is. Kohli now has the joint most half-centuries in T20is, pairing up with Rohit Sharma at the top of the list. However, the former Indian captain has played 33 innings less than the Hit-Man to reach the landmark.
