Ind vs Eng Test series: From Virat Kohli to Ben Stokes; Know all IPL stars to feature in upcoming series

Ind vs Eng Test series- India will host England for four-match Test series this week. The much-awaited contest is slated to begin on February 5 and it will decide Team India’s fate in the ICC Test Championship 2019-21. If Virat Kohli’s men are able to secure a series win, it will qualify for the final against New Zealand, scheduled to be held in Lord’s.

But ahead of the Test series, IPL has been grabbing a lot of headlines these days. This is due to the fact that a mini-auction will be held in Chennai on February 18 for bidding of the released IPL 2021 players which is not far away from the venue of the first two Tests. Ahead of the auction, let’s take a look at the total number of players from each squad ahead of the Test series.

List of India players in IPL from the current Test squad:

If we leave out Cheteswar Pujara, all the other members of Indian squad represent a franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Virat Kohli (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Rohit Sharma (Mumbai Indians), Mayank Agarwal (Kings XI Punjab), Shubman Gill (Kolkata Knight Riders, Ajinkya Rahane (Delhi Capitals), KL Rahul (Kings XI Punjab), Hardik Pandya (Mumbai Indians), Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals), Wriddhiman Saha (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Ravichandran Ashwin (Delhi Capitals), Kuldeep Yadav (Kolkata Knight Riders), Axar Patel (Delhi Capitals), Washington Sundar (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Ishant Sharma (Delhi Capitals), Jasprit Bumrah (Mumbai Indians), Md. Siraj (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Shardul Thakur (Chennai Super Kings).

Note: All the above players are retained by their respective sides for the upcoming 14th edition of the IPL.

On the other hand, only four players out of the England squad are part of the IPL 2021. This is because the all-rounder Moeen Ali is released by his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore. All eyes will be on him ahead of February 18 auctions. Besides this, other players from England in the Test squad will also eye to grab a place in the upcoming IPL edition if they impress any franchises by their individual performances.

Full England Test Squad: Joe Root (skipper),Moeen Ali, James Anderson, Jofra Archer, Dom Bess, Stuart Broad, Rory Burns, Jos Buttler (wk), Zak Crawley, Ben Foakes, Dan Lawrence, Jack Leach, Dom Sibley, Ben Stokes, Olly Stone and Chris Woakes.

The first two Tests will be held in Chennai and the third and fourth Test venue is Ahmedabad (including D/N Test).
