Rohit takes special net sessions –

The Indian Team captain Rohit Sharma has put his all his attentions on the upcoming England tour as he was in full throttle mode with the practice session. In a video posted on the Leicestershire Foxes’ Twitter handle Rohit was seen concentrating on his batting.

Rohit played defensive shots while concentrating on his backfoot. Rohit hasn’t played red-ball cricket for a while after  he participated in the IPL 2022.

Warm-up match rescheduled for Thursday-

  • The match against Leicestershire has been rescheduled for Thursday as weather is expected to play a decisive role.
  • The warm-up match was originally scheduled to be played on Friday, June 24 but was later brought back to Thursday as it could be an advantage for India with England playing the extra day against New Zealand.
  • If the England and New Zealand match does last for five days then Rohit Sharma and company will have a slight advantage.
  • The four-day contest will end on Sunday as it will give perfect platform for India to prepare for the England clash.

Preparations and mind games ahead of the Edgbaston Test-

  • England have opted to rest James Anderson in the final Test against New Zealand, keeping him fresh for the India game.
  • On the flip side, the Indian team will also make use of the 12 players allowed to play in the warm-up clash.
  • The preparations for the clash are in full swing in both camps with Virat Kohli and Cheteshwar Pujara also gearing up.
  • Batting coach Vikram Rathore was seen giving tips to the Indian players as Rohit and company prepare for the clash.
  • England will also try to avoid any risk and injury in their match against New Zealand with less than week’s time between the two matches.
