IND vs ENG LIVE Day 5: Deep Dasgupta says Mohammed Siraj is the ‘bowling avatar of Rishabh Pant’ – Former Indian wicket-keeper Deep Dasgupta has heaped praise on Mohammed Siraj and likened him to a ‘bowling avatar of Rishabh Pant’. Siraj has taken red ball cricket by storm since making his debut in Australia, and he’s been among the better performers during ongoing India vs England series. The 27-year-old was the pick of the Indian bowlers during the Lord’s Test, picking up four wickets in the first innings.

IND vs ENG LIVE Day 5: Speaking on his YouTube channel, former Indian wicketkeeper Deep Dasgupta has lavished heavy praise of Mohammed Siraj and suggested that India need to be patient with the Hyderabad born fast bowler. Dasgupta said that Siraj always like to attack and take wickets and his aggressiveness made him a stand out performer.

The former wicket-keeper added, “Mohammed Siraj was standout. The thing I like about Siraj is that he, according to me, is the bowling avatar of Rishabh Pant. He has an attacking mindset like Pant. There will be days or spells where he might leak runs. But as I say for Rishabh Pant that you need to be patient with him, same applies to Mohammed Siraj.”

IND vs ENG LIVE Day 5: Deep Dasgupta said that Virat Kohli and Team India need to be patient with Siraj and extract the best out of his ability. He added that the 27-year-old’s mindset was a speciality and while there will be days where his bowling will leak runs and be frustrating, patience and encouragement could go a long way in helping him be a consistent performer for the team.

Siraj will again be key for Virat Kohli and Co. with both bat and ball on the final day of the Lord’s Test match. With India at 181/6, the onus will be on Rishabh Pant and the tail to get them past the 200-run lead mark, before potentially bowling out the England XI to clinch a famous victory.
