Ravichandran Ashwin has returned to the Indian team and will feature in the ongoing warm-up fixture against Leicestershire. Ashwin had earlier missed the flight to UK after testing positive for COVID-19, putting his participation in serious doubt.
However, the premier off-spinner tested negative just days after and special arrangements were made for his travel to England. He joined up with the team on Wednesday but will not feature for Rohit Sharma’s team in the tour game.

The off-spinner had come to Mumbai to travel with the Test team on June 16 but had to follow the quarantine. He is not part of India’s squad for the warm-up game against Leicestershire, which started on Thursday. He will however return when India will lock horns with England for the rescheduled fifth Test at Old Trafford starting on July 1.
