Bhuvneshwar Kumar opened India’s bowling spell with a wicket as he sent Jason Roy packing. With a wicket and a maiden over, Bhuvneshwar went on to torment the English batters as he became the first bowler in T20I history to bowl 500 dot balls in Powerplays.

India needed a good start with the ball to put England under pressure and Bhuvneshwar made the perfect start. The opening ball saw Jason Roy nicking the ball swinging outside as Rohit Sharma took an easy catch from the first slip position. Bhuvneshwar continued his attack and went on to register a wicket-maiden over.

On his second over, he dismissed the dangerman, Jos Buttler. A back-of-a-length delivery saw Jos Buttler attempting to leave the ball. There is a slight nick that Rishabh Pant catches and appeals wildly. Rohit Sharma decided to review, and the ultra edge displayed contact with the bat as a dejected Jos Buttler departs.
Coming to bowl later in the match, on his third over, Bhuvnehswar dismissed Richard Gleeson. A slower delivery saw Gleeson hitting the ball towards the mid-off as the ball comfortably reaches the safe and comfortable hands of Virat Kohli, thereby gifting Kumar his three-wicket haul.
