Ind vs Eng: Virat Kohli’s fitness? The Indian skipper Virat Kohli evaded the field in the 2nd innings during the death overs, as he was seen limping back to the dugout during the fourth T20I between India and England on Thursday. The incident happened after the end of the 16th over when the stand-in captain, Rohit Sharma wore the captain’s hat and guided the hosts to a thrilling eight runs win to level the series 2-2.

When Sharma resumed his duties as captain, England required 46 runs off the last 4 overs with Ben Stokes and Eoin Morgan going all guns blazing against Indian bowlers. But with some smart field placements and bowling plans, Sharma ensured that Kohli’s electrifying stature wasn’t rubbed off the field.

Ind vs Eng: Why did Virat Kohli walk off the field?

Kohli in the post-match conference gave an update on his injury. On being asked about his him returning to the sidelines in the last 4 overs, he said “I ran for a ball and threw it and I just aggravated my leg a little bit and I didn’t want to make it into a niggle or an injury. We have another game in two days and I took the smart decision of going out”.

The good news for the fans is that skipper has insinuated that he will be taking the charge back in the 5th T20I game after a day of rest.

Losing the toss again, Virat’s men were asked to pad-up first. If it was Ishan Kishan earlier who scored a fifty in his debut match in a winning cause, well it was another Mumbai Indians batsman, Suryakumar Yadav who scored a scintillating half-century in his debut innings to script a victory for India in the 4th T20I.

With some other useful contributions from the lower-order, India managed to post a mounting total to climb ahead of England. With the efforts of all the bowlers in solidarity, India balked the Englishmen from winning the match and taking away the series.
