Ind vs Eng 2nd Test: Jonny Bairstow returns to form, finally smashes fifty against India after 20 innings gap- England batsman Jonny Bairstow returned to form with a brilliant fifty against India in the second Test here at the Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday. This is Bairstow’s first fifty in Test cricket in last 20 innings. Bairstow build a very important partnership with captain Joe Root to help his side get out of trouble after losing the first three wickets.
Interestingly his last fifty came in 2019 against Australia at the Lord’s Cricket Ground. Bairstow was even dropped from the side but was recalled ahead of the England tour of India earlier this year.
Bairstow failed to put up a good show against India in India where he could only score 28 runs with two ducks in the third Test and another one in the fourth Test.
