Indian Team’s new Jersey for Australia Series : The new kit of the Indian cricket team is not going down too well with the cricket fans. Twitter is flooded by messages from fans who are calling the new Jersey more of a billboard than Indian cricket team’s official kit.
Shikhar Dhawan on Tuesday shared a glimpse of Team India’s new jersey on Twitter which they will be wearing in the upcoming limited-overs fixtures against Australia. The ‘retro’ theme shirt, inspired by the 70s, has a navy blue shade, a shift from the conventional sky blue color that the team has been wearing in recent years. It also has the name of BCCI’s new kit sponsors — MPL Sports, the athleisure wear and sports merchandise brand from esports platform Mobile Premier League.
Why Indian Cricket Fans are unhappy ? Fans are trolling pic of new kit by saying – it is an advertising hoarding than the official kit of Indian team. The reason for displeasure of fans is that the sponsors LOGO i.e MPL & BYJU’s figure prominently on the Jersey than India written on it.
While the retro kits are generally well-received by fans, but not this time. For many, the colors of the iconic 1992 World Cup jersey brought back found memories, while for others the size and placement of sponsor names was a big put off. It is worth noting that MPL Sports has entered into a three-year agreement with BCCI.
Here’s how fans reacted on Twitter to Shikhar’s Dhawan’s post:
I represent India, I am the emotion
of 130 cr people of India… I’m not
“शौचालय की दीवार” where you can put
My country’s name should be bigger
than your meaningless sponsors
Mind it BCCI 😠

It looks like jerseys that were made 20 years ago or are made in leagues that are 20 notched below the National team…. Disappointing…

1/10 One of the worst jerseys of recent times. Indian jersey needs to have a grace, unfortunately it has become a Billboard. Pathetic is the word what comes in my mind.
