Ind vs Aus 3rd Test – James Pattinson ruled out of 3rd Test: Australia has suffered setback before the start of the 3rd Test match in Sydney. Home team’s fast bowler James Pattinson has been sidelined from the third Vodafone Test after injuring himself in a fall at his property. The four match test series is currently tied at 1-1.

What exactly happened ? Pattinson was on approved leave following the Boxing Day Test when he fell at his home and suffered bruised ribs. The Victorian has been part of Australia’s Test squad this summer but did not play either of the first two Tests and was unlikely to play this week’s Test in Sydney.

With fast bowlers Michael Neser and Sean Abbott also with the squad, Pattinson will not be replaced and his fitness will be assessed before the fourth Test at the Gabba.

The Australian and Indian squads will fly to Sydney today ahead of the start of the third Test on Thursday, with the series locked at 1-all.
