Hales was recalled to the England team for the global event after a gap of more than three years following Jason Roy’s exclusion on poor form and Jonny Bairstow suffering a freak injury while playing golf which forced him out of the competition.
After the game against Sri Lanka, Hales was interviewed by English broadcasters. Ex-England skipper Eoin Morgan was part of the commentary team and interviewed Hales. Fans were quick to notice the tension between the English opener and his former skipper. Hales evidently ignored Morgan and as social media users pointed out did not look at him even once during the three-minute segment.

For context, Hales had failed a drug test twice ahead of the 2019 World Cup and was axed from the England squad after being slammed a 21-day suspension. He was also ignored by the management during Morgan’s tenure as captain of the white-ball team.
However, following Morgan’s retirement earlier this year, Hales was recalled to the side for the England’s seven-match T20I series in Pakistan.
