India Cricket Jersey: India’s new kit sponsor Adidas on Thursday unveiled new jerseys ahead of the World Test Championship finale against Australia, which is slated to begin on June 7 at the Oval. The Indian team is set to wear two different jerseys in ODI and T20I cricket. The ODI kit is in light blue color and is similar to what India wore during the 2011 ODI World Cup. From shades of yellow and blue to navy blues, Team India has had some iconic jersey designs. Here’s a look at the iconic jerseys of Team India throughout the years:

(1985) The Indian cricket team wore colored jerseys for the first time.
(1991) Team India wore a jersey with the team’s name on the front.

(1992) Team India adopted a navy blue jersey with blue, green, red, and white stripes.

(1994) Team India adopted a yellow shirt with a blue band across the front with the team’s name.

(1995) Team India opted for dark blue color with white stripes on arm sleeves.
(1996) Team India used a light blue shirt with yellow collars. Rainbow-colored arrows were printed going across the chest.
(1997) The light blue jersey with an orange band across the front with the team’s name.
(1998) Team India’s jersey saw a significant change as it became all blue, with a tricolour around the shoulders.
(1999) Indian team again brought back yellow shade as the blue jersey had yellow collar with a black border.
(2001) The jersey featured strips of yellow at the centre with BCCI logo on the left.
(2002) The jersey had blue jersey with the team’s name written in Yellow at the centre.
(2003) Another light blue jersey with tricolour was painted from the bottom to the centre of the jersey.
(2004) The BCCI logo shifted to right side of the jersey with ‘India’ at the centre and sponsor Sahara was displayed above India.
(2007) A new shade of blue with tricolour stripe appeared across the right side. India won the T20 World Cup in this jersey.
(2009) The design was similar to 2007 jersey but this time a dark blue shade was adopted.
(2011) The jersey was halfway between dark and light blue with tricolour stripes on either side.
(2015) India’s 2015 jersey had a basic blue on the front, with sponsor in white and team name in orange.
(2016) The design featured a new collar and faded orange stripes around the chest.
(2019) An away jersey was introduced in the 2019 WC. The dark blue jersey with orange sleeves and the team’s name at the centre.
(2020) An updated version of the 1992 World Cup Oxford blue jersey featuring a new sponsor ‘Byjus’ ahead of the 2020-21 tour.
(2021) The jersey was identical to 2020 jersey with shades of light blue from top to bottom.
(2022) The jersey had a lighter shade of blue with darker sleeves with team’s name in orange at the centre.
(2023) Adidas on Thursday unveiled India’s new jersey. The jersey has bright blue color with ‘INDIA’ written in orange at the centre.
