Harbhajan Singh will don a cricket expert’s hat on Sky Sports during Indian cricket team’s tour of England this summer. The ‘Turbanator’ has reportedly been signed as an expert commentator by the England and Wales Cricket Board broadcast rights holder.

Harbhajan, playing in the Indian Premier League 2018 for his new franchisee Chennai Super Kings, in the past has appeared on national news channels as a cricket expert. An avid reader of the game, the witty cricketer has shown his tremendous potential to be as good a television presenter as he has been on the cricket field. The veteran of 103 Tests, 236 one-day international and 28 T20 internationals has been a host presenter of different genre TV shows.

Sky Sports has signed Harbhajan and Wasim Akram as “cricket pundits for India and Pakistan series against England respectively, Independent.co.uk has reported. Sky Sports is working on introducing fresh faces to its on-air commentary team.

The India series will also have Kumar Sangakkara in the commentary box. The former Sri Lankan skipper, batsman and wicketkeeper has been signed by Sky Sports as a full-time commentator. Sangakkara will start his new innings as a commentator with the Indian and Pakistan cricket teams’ tour of England this summer.

Sangakkara incidentally will be the first full-time commentator from Asia.

Sky Sports has also retained its prominent voices David Gower, Michael Atherton, Nasser Hussain, David Lloyd, Ian Botham, Michael Holding and Rob Key. However, Shane Warne will be missing from the commentary box during the international cricket in England this summer. He is expected to return for the Ashes next year.
