Gaikwad played an excellent knock of 92 runs in just 50 balls. He smashed four fours and nine huge sixes as CSK managed to post a competative total on the board. Over the years, Gaikwad has become the backbone of CSK batting line-up. The right-handed batter will look to continue his form in the upcoming matches as well. To note, this was Gaikwad’s third fifty against the Titans in IPL history.
Apart from Gaikwad, rest of the batting department failed to capitalize on their start. Devon Conway was cleaned up by Mohammad Shami. Moeen Ali came and play his shots till he was caught behind on the bowling of Rashid Khan. The Afghanistan star bowler stuck again as he scalped the big wicket of Ben Stokes.
Rayudu also struggled as he scored 12 off 12 balls before his stumps were shattered by pacer Joshua Little. Jadeja was also holed out in the deep as Shivam Dube and skipper MS Dhoni took their team’s total past the 170-run mark.
