PHILANTHROPHY PILLAR: The impact of ADHM truly resonates beyond the race.  The support for numerous causes – education, human rights, women empowerment, differently abled, environment or animal welfare has doubled in the last 5 years through the event. Since 2014 the funds generated through ADHM has doubled and an average of 75,000 people have been helped every year – a 1:2 ratio for every runner in ADHM!

It is also the largest opportunity for Civil Society Organisations be a part of mainstream society with beneficiaries and CXOs being on the same path for the betterment of the Society.

The lasting legacy of the funds raised last year in 2017 has impacted 1.10 lakh people. The funds have been utilized for the construction of 12 new classrooms, 10 current classrooms furnished, 350 women empowered to start earning, 1160 women empowered with self defense training, an old age home for women constructed and 68 young adults trained in IIT and placed in companies among others.

‘’We believe that Airtel Delhi Half Marathon is an important platform for CSOs (NGOs) across the country to raise funds for their organisational capacity building and growth. The platform provides credibility, due to systems and processes in place, to know the utilization of funds and gives Visibility to many small and medium CSOs (NGOs) who cannot afford to have a marketing staff or fundraising staff, we are thankful to Airtel and Procam for providing this platform, and special thanks to the runners who increasingly are making their run more meaningful by supporting a cause as the Run’ – Murray Culshaw, Chairperson, India Cares.

On Course:

12:00 a.m. –  Entire course to be washed with a safe and eco-friendly agent mixed with effluent treated water to reduce the suspended particulate matter over the ADHM course

2:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. – spraying the course with jets and mist fans reaching upto 20 feet to ensure that the SPM on the course is tackled. Ten live locations – spraying carried on intermittently throughout this time band

Dust hot spots adjoining / near proximity of the course have been pre-identified, and will be sprinkled twice prior to the course being opened for runners.

In Holding Area at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium & NDMC Building at Jai Singh Marg

2:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. – Mist fans are being deployed at varying heights inside the JLNS and the NDMC Building at Jai Singh Marg to be able to further help precipitation of the Suspended Particulate Matter.

As ascertained by multiple experts, the eco-friendly agent binds with the dust and reduces the volume of suspended particulate matter and when the water which has been sprayed on the roads starts vaporizing, it creates a safe and clean channel for runners to run.
