French Open 2021 Qualifiers: Big Setback for India, Sumit Nagal crashes out; follows Ankita Raina & Ramanathan

French Open 2021 Qualifiers: Sumit Nagal lost to a solid Tabilo in a late evening match in Paris. Sumit had managed to stage a mini-comeback in the 2nd set after being a breakdown but lost a 3-1 advantage.

He was knocked out in Round 2. Sumit Nagal(143) l. Alejandro Tabilo (166) 3-6 3-6

The country’s No 1 Sumit Nagal was the last remaining Indian singles player in action after Ankita Raina and Ramanathan both crashed out.

French Open 2021 Qualifiers: Greet Minnen thrash Ankita Raina in straight sets:

Greet Minnen of Belgium defeated India’s Ankita Raina in straight sets in the second qualifier match of Roland Garros 2021 on Wednesday.

Ankita started the game on a positive note by winning the first game of the first set however Greet came back strong and won the next four games on the trot.

Ankita could only manage to win one more game in the set before losing the set 6-2. In the second set 17th, seed Minnen was on top of her game and won the set 6-0.

French Open 2021 Qualifiers: Ramkumar Ramanathan knocked out of Roland Garros 2021:

Uzbekistan’s Denis Istomin defeated India’s Ramkumar Ramanathan 6-1,6-2 in the second qualifier of the French Open 2021 on Wednesday.

Ramkumar won the first game of the first set but that after that Denis won 6 games on the trot to win the set while in the second set Denis dropped just two games.

Earlier, Ramkumar Ramanathan opened his campaign against American Michael Mmoh. He won the match 7-6, 6-3 after losing the opening set 2-6.  His fate in Roland Garros 2021 will be finally decided in this match.
