Perez, who finished second in the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix said, “I think if the calendar expands more, then I definitely will not do it.” Meanwhile, Formula 1 keeps on adding new tracks to the calendar, with Miami, Las Vegas and Qatar now included in the schedule.

Speaking to The Athletic on the consistent calender expansion, Perez said “I can see wherever we go in the world, you feel it on the streets, people recognize you a lot more, people are into the sport a lot more. There’s a very big demand. But on the other hand, having too many races is a no-go, at least for me.”
“Right now, you’re basically immersed in it because we have so many races. We have simulator sessions before each event. We have partner events. So we basically have zero time for ourselves and for our families. I have a couple of young children with a third on the way,” The Mexican driver further elaborated.

Meanwhile, the current Concorde Agreement which is a settlement between F1, the FIA, and the 10 teams, limit the number of races to 24, which is due to be the situation next season.
Las Vegas debuts next year, and Qatar returns after its break from the current year’s World Cup. Meanwhile, if Russia doesn’t get the nod then China is scheduled to get back from its extensive Covid-implemented nonappearance.
