Formula 1: Pierre Gasly to Aston Martin as he can replace Lance Stroll: Formula 1 ex-driver Johnny Herbert thinks Lawrence Stroll might have to take a harsh decision on his son Lance Stroll’s future in F1. Johnny Herbert feels Lawrence Stroll might have to take a tough call and said, “Lance has had a bit of a difficult time of late. I sometimes think there is a certain time that, if it doesn’t quite happen, Lawrence has got to go ‘son, I’ve given you a chance. It isn’t quite working out. And I’ve got to do what’s right for the team.”

“I think there will be a point that’s going to happen. I don’t exactly know when that will be, but it’s down to Lance actually to do the job that he needs to do and consistently do that job. At the moment, it’s a little bit scrappy,” Herbert added.

Herbert proposed that Pierre Gasly should look to make inquiries of Aston Martin, considering that the Red Bull entryway has been solidly closed after Sergio Perez’s agreement extension.

“I think he should be straight, straight there already. I think he should already be making inquiries about exactly what they want to do and say ‘yeah, I’m ready, and I’m willing to come on board. I think that’s where drivers sometimes have to make those harsh decisions if you call it that. But, from a career perspective, it’d be the right thing for him to do,” Herbert concluded.

Pierre Gasly had had a mixed start to the 2022 season as he sees himself tenth overall in the drivers’ standings with 16 points. His best finish of the 2022 season came at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix where he finished fifth overall.

Whereas, Lance Stroll has had a poor start to the 2022 season as he sees himself seventeenth overall with just two points. Meanwhile, his best finish came at the inaugural Miami Grand Prix where he finished tenth.

Moreover, if Aston Martin has to climb up the ladder and be at the top of the midfield battle then they might have to think about this move and should give Gasly a chance. Sebastian Vettel has loads of experience under his belt and replacing him won’t be an option.

Furthermore, Aston Martin are reeling behind in the constructors’ standings as they are ninth overall with just 15 points.
