Formula 1: Ferrari’s team principal Mattia Binotto is in favour of six sprint races.

F1 motorsport chief Ross Brawn has said he desires to win the backing of a basic majority at the commission the increment to six sprint races, which implies getting 25 out of 30 votes. As 20 of those votes are held by FIA and FOM, and the excess 10 are isolated similarly among the groups, somewhere around five of the groups should uphold the proposition for it to go on.

Sprint races bring possibly greater expenses for teams because of the expanded gamble of harm contrasted with a practice session. However, Binotto is happy with the special cases which are allowed for such harm under the financial plan cap.

“In terms of costs, I think it has been discussed. We know in terms of a budget cap, allowances, revenues, what may be worthwhile,” Brawn said.

Ross Brawn has also spoken along similar lines and has affirmed the budget cap allowance will be scaled in accordance with the number of sprint races. “Each sprint has an allowance. At the moment it’s three times the allowance. Next year it will be six times the allowance,” he said.
