Formula 1: Red Bull and Aston Martin squad members were seen in Jeddah scaling the metal fencing that surrounds the Saudi Arabian street track during the chequered flag. It is present in most of the locations that F1 visits and the tradition of team staff celebrating by climbing the fences have been going on for a while despite being forbidden in a rule that was introduced for the 2006 season. However, after the Jeddah celebrations. where team staff from Red Bull and Aston Martin climbed the lattice metal debris fencing, FIA has reminded the teams of possible penalties in future.

Although it has become commonplace for teams to climb the catch fence next to the pit lane to celebrate their drivers’ victories, this practice is still illegal according to Appendix H, Article 2.3.2 of the FIA ISC.
The FIA initially outlawed the practice for the 2006 season. Team members are still prohibited from scaling the barrier along the pit lane to celebrate, as stated in Article 2.3.2.

At the Bahrain season opener, team personnel were also seen leaning over the track and climbing to the top of the pitwall rubbish fence, both of which are commonplace in contemporary Formula 1.

However, ahead of Australian Grand Prix, FIA race director Niels Wittich reminded F1 teams that such actions are prohibited.
Wittich’s pre-weekend event safety notes included the line “it is forbidden to climb on the pitwall debris fence at any time”, Wittich said.
