A coach who has won the 2012 and 2015 AFCON Cups with 2 different teams knows how to handle pressure and expectations on such a big stage and the Frenchman will be looking to use that experience to navigate their journey in Qatar.

Even though Saudi Arabia has been quite consistent under Renard, they do not have a mega-star in their squad and it all boils down to teamwork for them. As mentioned above, Salem Al-Dawsari and Saleh Al-Shehri will be players who can make a difference to them with their goals. At the back, Abulelah Al-Amri too is a center-back who has risen the ranks, even though he just has 15 caps to his name. Their left-back, Yasser Al-Sharani also is a household name for Saudis and he will be instrumental for them in attack and defense.
