Colombia, which had scored six of its seven goals in the competition in the first half, was aggressive from the start. Spain responded 16 minutes later when Cristina Libran fired from distance after collecting a pass from Vicky Lopez, only to be denied by a similar stop, this time on the other end by Luisa Agudelo.
