FC Barcelona: New manager Xavi gradually plotting a move for Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah: FC Barcelona are looking to bring in some reinforcement this season and Mohamed Salah top’s Xavi’s priority list. The Blaugrana are gradually looking to plan a move for the Liverpool marksman. Xavi along with Joan Laporta are looking to make a big coup for the Egyptian winger.

Reports in Catalonia suggest that the Spanish tactician is looking to rebuild the squad and Salah is the topmost priority of the plan as he looks to settle in his new role as Ronald Koeman’s successor. Barcelona have struggled to get going this season and Salah, who has been in sensational form this season can solve out all the issues at Camp Nou.

The 29-year-old has already netted 15 goals along with six assists in 15 appearances this season. Hence he is tagged as the best player in the world currently. He is invaluable to Jurgen Klopp’s plans and the German tactician would not let his main man leave the club so easily. However, Salah in the past has hinted that he is open to a move to Spain.

With only 18 months left in Salah’s current contract and therefore a move from Barcelona can very well put up a question on his future at Anfield.

Premier League: Good news for Liverpool, Harvey Elliott back in training after 2 months

Liverpool chiefs have had talks with Salah many times but they have not been able to come to a middle ground regarding his contract extension. The situation is reaching a crucial point and the Egyptian will be forced to decide on his future. Spanish outlet El Nacional recently reported that Barcelona are in prime position to capitalise on Salah’s situation if no contract extension is reached with Liverpool. In fact, reports even suggest that Sqalh’s agent Ramy Abbas Issa has received phone calls from clubs all across Europe.

Xavi believes that Salah can sort out a lot of problems in attack at Barcelona and his presence will only motivate the other players to raise their level. The Spaniard feels that Salah can have a similar sort of impact as Lionel Messi who joins Paris Saint Germain this summer.
