F1 Hungarian GP LIVE:  Red Bull’s Max Verstappen wins the Hungarian GP at Hungaroring and also his eighth race of the season. Mercedes registered their consecutive double podium finish as Lewis Hamilton claimed the second spot followed by George Russell in third. Meanwhile, Red Bull looks to assert dominance in the championship and extend their lead over Ferrari and Mercedes. Both, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc have a great chance of winning this year but Lewis Hamilton can give the sucker punch as Mercedes have shown immense improvements in the last two races. Lewis Hamilton has won the most number of Hungarian Grand Prix’s with eight wins under his belt. Meanwhile, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen both are yet to win a race here as it was Alpine’s Esteban Ocon who clinched the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.

When was the track built?

Work started on the Hungaroring in 1985, and the track was race-prepared only nine months after the fact. The Hungarian government had initially thought to be restoring the old Nepliget park circuit in Budapest in a bid to have Formula 1 in the nation, yet in the end chose to make a purpose-built facility instead.

When was its first Grand Prix?

It was 1986. Nelson Piquet won the first F1 race around the Hungaroring, in his Williams around the outside of Ayrton Senna’s Lotus to start to lead the pack.
