Euro 2020 England preview: England, the strugglers in the national competitions, will be confident going into the UEFA Euro 2020. Over the last four years, England have steadily grown into a title contender under Gareth Southgate with youngsters making a mark. World Cup 2018’s semifinal finish was just the beginning.

That semifinal finish have given England the boost in confidence that they needed after years of under-par performance. As the final of the continental championship will be held at the Wembley Stadium in London, the Harry Kane-led side will be gunning for the title. In Europa League, English clubs have dominated as well and the results are not due to foreign players but also to the English players’ top performance in Premier League. From Harry Kane to Raheem Sterling, the established players have performed exceedingly well while youngsters like Jadon Sancho, Phil Foden, Mason Greenwood have done superbly for their clubs.

England in Group D of Euro 2020: England are in Group D alongside World Cup runners-up Croatia, old rivals Scotland and the Czech Republic. The group is a difficult one with Croatia posing the greatest threat to England’s challenge, not to mention that it was Luka Modric’s side that eliminated England from the World Cup semifinals. In Scotland, Gareth Southgate has found an opponent that can pose a minuscule challenge due to the burden of the oldest rivalry in world football.
