Euro 2020: Ahead of Portugal’s title defence, Cristiano Ronaldo hints at Juventus departure, shares emotional post

Euro 2020 – Ronaldo hints at Juventus departure: Days before Cristiano Ronaldo returns to national setup to defend Portugal’s UEFA Euro title, the Juventus striker shared a cryptic post on his social media channels, hinting at a possible exit from the Italian club. In a post, Ronaldo said that he had achieved a goal in Juventus.

“This year we couldn’t win Serie A, congratulations to Inter for the well-deserved title. However, I have to value everything that we achieved this season at Juventus, both in collective and individual terms. The Italian Super Cup, the Italian Cup and the Serie A Top Scorer trophy fill me with happiness, mainly due to the difficulty they carry with them, in a country where nothing is easy to win,” Ronaldo said.

“With these achievements, I reached a goal that I had set myself since the first day I arrived in Italy: to win the Championship, the Cup and the Super Cup, and also to be Best Player and Top Scorer in this great football country filled with tremendous players, giant clubs and a very own football culture,” Cristiano Ronaldo added.

Euro 2020 – Ronaldo hints at Juventus departure: Although Juventus missed out on the Serie A title for the first time in 9 years with Inter winning the championship after an 11-year gap, Cristiano Ronaldo finished as the top-scorer with 29 goals. The club also won the Italian Super Cup and the Italian Cup. However, they were left disappointed bowing out of UEFA Champions League in the round of the 16 to Porto.

While Cristiano Ronaldo does have a contract with Juventus until 2022, it is unlikely that he would stay put in Italy. Last week, pictures emerged from Turn showing he was transferring his collection of luxury cars to an undisclosed location. Apart from that, he has been linked to multiple European powerhouses in recent times including a possible return to Real Madrid, who have been struggling since his departure from the club in 2018. He has also been linked to PSG and a return to Manchester United.
