Watch: Stuart Broad’s historic moment as he completes 500 Test wickets

Stuart Broad has been the highlight performer in the decider #raisethebat Test and has single-handedly pulled out England through any crisis. Broad who delivered a quickfire 45 ball 65 in the first innings, put up an en exemplary display with the ball as well.

With the wicket of Kraig Brathwaite on Day 5, the right-arm pacer completed his 500 Test wickets and joined an elite list of cricketers. He currently stands at 7th with 500 wickets while fellow team-mate Jimmy Anderson ranks fourth on the list with 589 wickets.

It would also be only the second time any bowling pair would cross the historic milestone. Previously, the Australian bowling duo of Shane Warne and Glen McGrath has achieved the feat in 2000. 

Stuart Broad gave a testament of his lofty repute by showing his worth with the ball as he scalped a five-wicket haul during Day 3 of the ongoing third and final Test between England and West Indies at the Old Trafford in Manchester. Broad on Day two had picked two wickets and on day three he added six more, taking his tally to 8 wickets before claiming his 500 Test wickets today afternoon.

Earlier, during the Day 2, Anderson also entered the record books to become the highest wicket-taking English bowler against West Indies. Apart from the feat, he also joined the ranks of Kapil Dev and McGrath, who has 110 and 89 scalps respectively. Anderson currently stands third in the list with 87 wickets followed closely by Truman who has 86 wickets to his name.
