England tour of Sri Lanka : England stars Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes rested for Test tour of Sri Lanka with exciting batsman Dan Lawrence included along with Jonny Bairstow
Two of England’s best players will miss the Test tour of Sri Lanka next month as the selectors try to cope with bubble fatigue and provide rest for their key performers at the start of what promises to be their busiest year of cricket.
Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes were missing from the 16-man squad announced on Friday for the two Tests in Galle in January but there is a first tour call-up for exciting Essex batsman Dan Lawrence and a return for Jonny Bairstow.
According to the information coming in from ECB – both the players will be available for the India tour which is scheduled right after the completion of series against Sri Lanka.
Why Archer and Stokes dropped out of England squad ?
Archer, who spent 88 days in bio-secure bubbles last summer, was the first England player to complain about the demand son mental health of the unnatural environment and was due to be rested for the one-day series in South Africa that was abandoned this week.
