England could turn their eyes to Phil Salt for the series finale on Sunday as Jos Buttler aims to break the chain of collapses in the previous two games. The hosts conceded the series due to their lacklustre performances with the bat, slipping to 33/4 and 60/6 in both the games. Jason Roy has managed 4 and a duck in both games and with this being the final game of the series, England could drop their talisman.

Phil Salt, another attacking right-handed batsman, could be in the mix having warmed the bench for the past two games. Salt however did feature in Friday’s T20 Blast game for Lancashire, scoring a brisk 27 in a comfortable chase for the Lightning. In his short T20I career, Salt has scored a mind-boggling strike rate of 193.55, with one half-century in three innings.

Having only selected a 13-man squad for the series, England have additional changes to make. Tymal Mills and Reece Topley were dropped following their poor show in the first T20I, with Richard Gleeson and David Willey featuring at Edgbaston. Gleeson on debut bowled a stunning spell to dismantle the Indian top order. Willey meanwhile showed his utility with a cameo at the end to take them past the 100-run mark.
