ENG-W beats IND-W 2nd ODI: Dunkley, Brunt snatch victory from India women, England women wins series 2-0: Despite a dominating bowling display after managing just 221 runs on the scorecard, Sophia Dunkley and Katherin Brunt proved too good for India. The duo shared an unbeaten 92 runs for the sixth wicket to take the game away from India. The hosts were 133/5 at one stage. Opener Lauren Winfield also contributed 42 runs to the victory. Successive wins have helped England Women take an unassailable 2-0 over India in the ODI series. The final ODI will be played on July 3.

Earlier, Mithali Raj slammed her 57th ODI fifty after Shafali Verma played a 44-run knock to help India set 222-run target for Heather Knight’s England in the 2nd ODI at Taunton. Kate Cross was the star for India with a five-wicket haul.

ENG-W beats IND-W 2nd ODI: Sophia Dunkley, Katherine Brunt snatch victory from India women:

India were thrashed by England women’s team in the first ODI at County Ground, Bristol. Heather Knight’s side won the match by eight wickets.

While Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana gave India a good start, after the former’s wicket, India lost steam. In the middle-overs, India played too slowly as Mithali Raj and Harmanpreet Kaur failed to score quick runs against quality England bowling after Shafali Verma’s wicket.

After a 50-run stand, Harmanpreet Kaur departed on 19 and onus was on Mithali Raj. India skipper Mithali Raj was the lone warrior who scored a fifty but India kept losing wickets at the other end.
