Delhi beat Jharkhand: Delhi win by 6 wickets- Riding on Himmat Singh’s fantastic 113 off 124 balls, last year’s quarter-finalist Delhi cruised to a six-wicket victory over Jharkhand in their Vijay Hazare Trophy opener. After Jharkhand set a 264-run target after half-centuries from Virat Singh, Anukul Roy, Kaushal Singh, Delhi lost just four wickets as they chased down the target with three overs to spare. Earlier, Delhi skipper Pradeep Sangwan won the toss and opted to field first against Jharkhand at IS Bindra Cricket Stadium in Mohali. Delhi restricted Jharkhand for 263/8 on the back of some good bowling from skipper Pradeep Sangwan & Kulwant Khejroliya who picked up 5 wickets together.

In reply, Delhi lost Indian star opener, Shikhar Dhawan cheaply in the first over. However, Dhruv Shorey and Himmat Singh steadied the ship in a 127-run second-wicket stand. After Shorey fell, Himmat Singh continued with Lalit Yadav and Kshitiz Sharma later to chase down the target.
